After community Thanksgiving dinners kicked off the holiday season in Chinook and Havre Thursday, the Christmas season soon followed with events Friday and Saturday.
Havre Elks Lodge #1201 held its annual Cocktails and Crafts Friday in the lodge, and Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line held another small event that night in the club for some of the donors to its Festival of Trees.
As it did last year during the COVID-19 pandemic, the club held the auction for its fundraiser online, with bidding wrapping up Saturday, but had held mini-events for donors, with that wrapping up Friday.
And the Christmas celebrations went into high gear Friday in Chinook, with the town's Festival of Trees silent auction along with a performance by The Bell Choir in First Bank of Montana, while vendors set up in the Blaine County Fairgrounds Community Building with a special appearance in that location by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
A dinner service was held in Chinook's Eagles Club, with the premiere event, the annual Parade of Lights, starting at 6 p.m.
And events are scheduled in the region through December as well. Watch Havre Daily News for updates on upcoming events.
