Montana Highway Patrol investigated two injury vehicle crashes in the Havre area Friday.
Two callers reported at 9:30 p.m. a rollover on U.S. Highway 2 East just outside of the city limits, and Montana Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at 9:32 p.m.
Trooper Matt Erickson said the driver of a vehicle swerved and entered a broadside skid causing the vehicle to roll in the ditch. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle during the roll and sustained “very significant injuries.” The driver was transported to Northern Montana Hospital and then transported by Mercy Flight to Benefis in Great Falls.
Excess speed was a factor in the crash but not alcohol. The road was bare and dry.
Earlier Friday a caller reported driving off of First Street North near 11th Avenue North and onto BNSF Railway property at 1:30 a.m. MHP reported on its website responding to the scene at 6:55 a.m. MHP dispatch said the vehicle was involved in a rollover and unknown occupants sustained minor injuries. No one was made available to provide a full report of the crash.
