MSU-N's Emily Feller named Frontier Player of the Week

After the Montana State University-Northern Skylights finished strong at home, Emily Feller was named Frontier Conference Setter of the Week.

Feller is a 5-foot-10 freshman setter/outside hitter from Helena. MSU-Northern split their final two regular season matches downing Carroll College and losing 3-1 to No. 17 Montana Tech. Feller averaged 11.13 assists and 3.13 digs.

Ayla Embry of Rocky Mountain College, a 5-foot-4 sophomore libero from Bozeman, was named Defender of the Week. Rocky split their final regular season matches. Rocky beat Montana Western 3-0 and lost to No. 8 Providence 3-0. For the week, Embry averaged eight digs per set.

Jenna Thorne, a 5-foot-11 sophomore outside hitter from Karitane, New Zealand, at University of Providence, was named Attacker of the Week. The eighth-ranked Argos closed the regular season with a 3-2 victory over Carroll College and a 3-0 sweep of Rocky. Thorne averaged four kills per set with a .256 attack percentage.

Nick Calzaretta was named Frontier Football Offensive Player of the Week. Calzaretta, College of Idaho is a 5-foot-11, 205 lbs, senior running back from Larkspur, Calif. In No. 19 College of Idaho’s 21-3 home win over Eastern Oregon, Calzaretta set a new College of Idaho rushing record with his fourth quarter 76-yard touchdown run. He now has 3,424 career yards, which is 12th all time in the Frontier Conference. His 123-yard total was his 13th career 100-yard game.

Keagan McCoy was named Defensive Player of the Week. McCoy, of College of Idaho is a 6-foot-1, 240 lbs, senior defensive lineman from Boise, Idaho. In No. 19 College of Idaho’s 21-3 home win over Eastern Oregon, McCoy recorded four solo tackles, three assisted tackles, four tackles for loss (-20 yards), three quarterback sacks (-19 yards) and forced two fumbles.

Lucas Overton of Rocky Mountain College is a 6-foot-2, 235 lbs senior wide receiver, from Emmett, Idaho, who was named Special Teams Player of the Week. In No. 17 Rocky Mountain College’s 19-7 home win over MSU-Northern, Overton recorded 72-yards in punt returns and 22 kick return yards.
