With the unofficial returns tallied on the election this week, some new faces are in some of the offices.
In Blaine County, retired sheriff Glenn Heustis upset incumbent Keith Hanson in the race for mayor. Huestis received 222 votes to Hanson’s 179.
Robert Smith won the race for councilperson in Ward 1 in Chinook, defeating Michal Radovich 121-86.
Shannon Sattleen won the race to represent Ward 2 in the Chinook City Council race. Sattleen received 140 votes while Mitch Haider received 41.
In Harlem, Kim Hansen won a close race for mayor, defeating Douglas Stuart 87-69.
In the Harlem City Council race, unopposed candidates won, with Rodney Donahue winning a four-year term with 65 votes Chris Green winning an unexpired two-year term with 57 votes.
in Chouteau County, Big Sandy had unopposed races with the candidates winning by acclamation. Those candidates were Shaud Schwarzbach, mayor; Jon Sheehy, Town Council Ward 1; Colby Baumgarn, Town Council Ward 2, and Krystyl Kulbeck for a two-year unfulfilled term in Ward 2.
In Fort Benton, Lanny Walker won the race for mayor with 461 votes while Joseph Curl received 22 votes.
The races in wards 1 and 2 were unopposed, with Dyke Kalanick taking the seat in Ward 1 with 160 votes and Merlyn Scott taking Ward 2 with 119 votes.
In Ward 3, Vern Anderson took the seat with 134 votes while Natasha Heiken took 34 votes and Todd James Galbaugh received 19.
In the Geraldine elections, Kathy Bond won the mayor’s race with 77 votes while qualified write-in candidate Kirk Protsman received 23 votes.
Perry Joyce and Shaya Clark won the races for the two open council seats, with Joyce receiving 57 votes and Clark receiving 59. In that race, Mike Qunell received 41 votes and Virginia Johnston received 34.
Liberty and Hill counties had no contested races, with all candidates winning by acclamatiion.
In Chester, Shane Kenfield, Wendy Dauwalder and Sonja Dahlen were elected to city council by acclamation.
Hingham in Hill County also had unopposed races, with Thomas Peterson taking the seat of mayor and Roger Haas and Dillon Lipp taking the alderman at large seats.
Havre also had an election by acclamation, with Douglas Kaercher taking the mayoral election, Janie M. Hedstrom, city judge, Kimberly Bolta the Ward 1 city council seat, Heather Parker the Ward 2 seat, Lindsey Ratliff reatining her seat in Ward 3, Andrew Brekke- winning a two-year unexpired term in Ward 3, and Sarah McKinney retaining her seat in Ward 4.
In the Fort Belknap elections, Jeffery “Jeff” Stiffarm and Judith “Judy” King won the race for president and vice president with 363 votes. Incumbent President Andrew Russell Werk Jr. and John A. Allen received 358 votes.
In the River Gros Ventre district council representative race for a two-year term, Dominic Messelry won with 163 votes while Connie Filesteel received 148 votes.
In the Mountain Gros Ventre district representative race, Warrin Morin received 148 votes and William Hughes Sr. received 121.
In the Gros Ventre at-large representative race, Gros Ventre voters only, Stephen “Shelley” Fox received 335 votes and Harold “Jiggs” Main received 192.
In the Gros Ventre at-large representative race, elected by both tribes, Deno Levaldo won with 606 votes and Mike “Gopher” Fox received 312 votes.
In the River Assiniboine race, Derk “Sam” Azure received 145 votes and Robert “Bobby” Ironmaker Sr. recieved 99 votes.
In the Mountain Assiniboine district race, Brian Kevin Wing, unopposed, received 119 votes.
In the Assiniboine at-large representative, elected by both tribes, Tracy “Ching” King won with 344 votes while Dianna Bigby received 227 votes.
