Thanks to a three-game sweep Saturday in Dillon, it’s safe to say, the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team is playing at a high level on the road.
In its final road match of the Frontier Conference season, the Skylights beat the Montana Western Bulldogs by scores of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-20.
The Skylights were up early in the set, until Western went on a 7-1 run to push the game into over points. Northern was able to make three points in a row to take the set. In the second set, the Skylights took the lead early and never looked back. Northern was able to extend the lead in the third set by six. The Bulldogs battled back, but it wasn't enough.
The Skylights were led by Alana Graves, who tallied 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .500. Elissa Lind added 10 kills and nine digs. Shania Neubauer led the team in digs with 20. Emily Feller led the team in assists with 35. MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .205 on the day, while Montana Western hit .043. The Skylights had 42 assists, as the Bulldogs had 25. Northern also had 66 digs to Montana Western 49.
The Skylights are 14-11 overall and 3-5 in conference.
The Skylights will be at home for their last two games Nov. 5 and 6. Northern will play at 7 p.m. against Montana Tech the first night on parent night. On Nov. 6, the Skylights will play Carroll College on Senior night at 2 p.m.
