After a weekend off, high school volleyball on the Hi-Line returned to conference play this past week, and it was a busy one.
Last Tuesday saw a trio of matches with arena squads like Harlem falling to Malta in a Class B matchup, while Big Sandy lost a tough District 7C match to Geraldine-Highwood by scores of 25-10, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-14. Chester-Joplin-Inverness meanwhile, won a big match knocking off Centerville by scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-15 and 25-21.
Last Thursday night, Fort Benton continued the 7C action with a three-game sweep of Big Sandy, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-22. Thursday also saw Hays-Lodge Pole swept twice by the Rivals.
Friday saw a huge showdown between the Longhorns and Chinook Sugarbeeters on Friday night. In that match, Chinook prevailed by scores of 25-23, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-18. It was a big win for the Beeters, who were led by Bree Swanson.
North Star also earned a big win over Centerville Friday night. The Knights beat the Miners in the 7C clash, by scores of 16-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-10 and 15-9. The comeback win was helped by Kira King who had nine kills, while Laramie Peterson tallied 26 assists.
Also Friday night, CJI dropped a tough match to the Rivals, by scores of 25-13, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-15, as the Rivals remained perfect in the 7C.
Saturday night’s Class B action saw Harlem fall to Glasgow, by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-27 and 25-19, while Cut Bank swept Rocky Boy by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-9.
Back in the 7C Saturday night, Big Sandy scored a big win over North Star. The Pioneers beat the Knights by scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-22. CJI also swept Box Elder by scores of 25-8, 25-9 and 25-5.
