Havre physician takes helm as president Montana Medical Association

Robertson selected as MMA president for 2021-22

HELENA — The Montana Medical Association announced that its Board of Trustees selected a new slate of officers to lead the association through September 2022, with Carley C. Robertson, M.D., a general practice physician from Havre, taking the helm as association president.

“We are proud to announce these new officers and their commitment to leading the Association into 2022,” MMA Chief Executive Officer Jean Branscum said. “Dr. Robertson and this full slate of exceptional physician leaders bring a vast wealth of knowledge, skills and abilities to the MMA. Their guidance will help position the MMA and its initiatives for success as Montana communities and health care providers continue their response to an increase in COVID-19 cases statewide.”

The new organization leaders were elected during the 143rd MMA Annual Meeting Sept. 18, 2021. Dr. Robertson takes the place of Pamela V. Cutler, M.D., who served as MMA president over the 2020-2021 term.

Additional leaders serving 2021-2022 terms include:

• Vice President Denny C. Orme, D.O., Anesthesiology, Kalispell

• Secretary Sarah F. Morgan, M.D., Emergency Medicine, Bozeman

• Treasurer Robert C. Sherrick, M.D., Addiction and Internal Medicine, Kalispell

• Immediate Past President Pamela V. Cutler, M.D., Emergency Medicine, Missoula

• Member-At-Large Serving on the Executive Committee Shawna M. Yates, D.O., Family Medicine, Butte

• Delegate to the American Medical Association Nicole C. Clark, M.D., Neurology, Helena

• Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association Jason A. Cohen, Hospitalist and Internal Medicine, Kalispell

• American Medical Association Delegate to Young Physician Section J. Erin Hixon, M.D., Family Medicine, Billings

• Member-At-Large on the Board of Trustees Jason A. Cohen, M.D., Hospitalist and Internal Medicine, Kalispell

• Member-At-Large on the Board of Trustees Michael C DiCello, M.D., Allergy and Immunology, Bozeman

• Member-At-Large on the Board of Trustees Ernest J. Gray, M.D. Family Medicine, Browning.

The Montana Medical Association is a membership organization composed of Montana physicians dedicated to improving patient care. Its mission is to serve members as an advocate for the medical profession, quality patient care and the health of all Montana citizens. The MMA is the largest physician-led organization in Montana with over 1,400 members.
