Jocelyn Manzenerez will be in Havre Saturday for Hi-Line Child Care Association's presentation of Musically Minded.

A release from the child care association says the training presented is interactive and will focus on "bringing the joy back to teaching and creating fun and meaningful circle times."

The event, which includes drinks, lunch and snacks and six hours of approved training, starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. at District 4 Human Resources and Development Council at 2229 Fifth Avenue, with the course running from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Charges are $35 per attendee.

People can call Debbie McCormick at 406-265-7946 to preregister or register at the event.

The Circle Time website says Manzanarez, owner of Musically Minded, is on a mission to share the power of music and movement with early childhood educators.

Founded in 2003, her Seattle-based company provides music and movement classes for children ages birth through five in child care centers, in-home day cares and preschools.

She believes every child deserves meaningful experiences with music beginning at birth. She not only strives to reach as many children through her company's weekly music and movement classes, but by also educating classroom teachers and parents on the benefits of integrating these uniquely human experiences into the lives of children.

She has written and recorded hundreds of children's songs as well as created a curriculum, Circle Time Success, designed for classroom teachers to use at circle time.

Both are used in child care settings throughout the United States.

She is a certified K-12 music educator in Washington state, a Washington state Department of Early Learning trainer and an adjunct professor at Green River College.

Manzanerez received her Bachelor of Arts in music education from the University of Montana and her Master of Arts in music education from the University of Washington in 2005.
