C.A.R.E. awards presented

Northern Montana Health Care recently presented the C.A.R.E. - Compassionately Achieving Remarkable Excellence - Award to two employees.

Paul Schuschke, RN, part of the emergency medicine team, won the award in June and Shannon Hansen, a member of the Northern Montana Pharmacy team, won the Award in September.

Schuschke was nominated for this honor by his co-workers.

"Paul has many years of experience at NMH," his nominator said. "He is a mentor and resource tool for his peers. He represents NMHC in a positive and professional manner."

Hansen's nominator said, "Shannon is a positive and happy person who is a joy to work with. She takes great care in her job. Her work ethic is fantastic."

Customer service is important to Northern Montana Health Care. "Being the healthcare provider of choice" is part of their mission statement. Taking the time to recognize excellence in their employees is one of the ways they try to achieve this goal.

The C.A.R.E." award was started as part of NMHC's Customer Service Group, "The High Five Club.". The purpose of this bi-monthly recognition award is to acknowledge employees who have served at NMHC in an exceptional manner by exemplifying outstanding service through his or her work, and consistently exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude. Employees at NMHC nominate their fellow employees for this award.

"We've found the benefit of awarding this C.A.R.E. Award to our employees is two-fold" said Christen Obresley, vice president of regulatory and community services. "Because the nominations come from their co-workers, it helps bring to our attention the affect that practicing great customer service has on our organization. Secondly it creates a great feeling for not only the winner, but also for the other nominees."

As part of the presentations of the C.A.R.E. Awards, Schuschke and Hansen each were presented with special logoed jackets.
