Skylights BB team paints a park pavilion

From Montana State University-Northern

For the past 16 years, The Montana State University-Northern Skylights basketball team has held a fall leadership retreat to help facilitate team building, unity, and to help the community.

This year they painted the inside of the pavilion at the second lake in the Bear Paw Mountains. Over the years, they have painted the pavilion, picnic tables in Beaver Creek Park, and many of the buildings at Camp Kiwanis. They also helped begin the restoration process on cabins at Camp Kiwanis by gutting the insides of the cabins. Four years ago, they helped restore the Rotary Falls area after it had been vandalized.

“Pam and Dave Wilson have directed our team retreats for 16 years, and they are amazing,” said Coach Chris Mouat. “They help our kids learn a lot about themselves, and they help us grow as a team. They are two of the most selfless, giving people you will ever find, and are definitely a huge part of our team. We are beyond thankful for all that they have done and continually do for us. They are two very special people who go above and beyond for our program, for Northern, and all of Havre.

“Beaver Creek Park is a special place for our program as well, and we’ve made a lot of memories out there over the years,” Mouat added. “Finding things to do to better the park while we are enjoying our retreat is important and something we’ll continue to do.”
