Havre Police Department

A Wednesday 7:02 a.m. caller at the water plant reported that someone loosened lug nuts on a vehicle and the wheel fell off.

A caller reported scraping a pickup truck with their vehicle while parking on Third Street at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers investigated a Wednesday 11:06 a.m. report that someone took the Third Street caller's remote alcohol monitoring device base station.

--

A backpack was reported found at a First Street establishment Wednesday at 1:33 p.m.

--

A caller at a Montana State University-Northern residence hall reported Wednesday at 1:44 p.m. that a motorcycle was stolen.

--

Wednesday at 6:59 p.m., a Second Street Northeast caller reported a theft from a home.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

An arrest was made after a 2:05 p.m. Wednesday caller at mile marker 97 on U.S. Highway 87 reported a man was beating up a female passenger in a van. No details on charges were provided, but Maverick Buck Smith of Wolf Point, who was named as an involved party, was listed in the jail roster this morning as being held on charges of partner or family member assault and obstructing a police officer or other public servant.

Kaleb Steven Dobrenz of Havre, 25, was arrested on a charge of assault with a weapon after a 7:23 p.m. Wednesday caller on U.S. Highway 2 Northeast asked 911 for help.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to six calls Wednesday and one early this morning.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at a business on the 2500 Block of Highway 2 West at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday. The alarm was due to a water flow issue in the building and maintenance reset the alarm and addressed the issue.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at a multifamily dwelling on the 1300 Block of Jefferson Avenue. No smoke, flames or other signs of fire were found. The alarm was reset.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held three cats, two 16-week-old kittens, a 6-month-old kitten, two 11-week-old kittens, a 5-week-old kitten and six 21-week-old kittens all of unknown gender, three female cats, a female and two male 10-week-old kittens, a female 7-month-old kitten and a male 15-week-old kitten.

The shelter also held a male catahoula leopard dog, a female 18-week-old mixed-breed puppy, a male shepherd dog and a male husky dog. Also being held separately were a female and a male 8-week-old puppies and a male 7-month-old puppy, all of mixed breed.
