News you can use
I have seen this lately in the papers where people have written their own obituaries so I decided to write mine.
I was born February 9, 1951, in Butte, MT, to Morris J. Gummer and Lois E. (Sweeney) Gummer. In early 1957, we moved to Havre, MT, where I was raised.
I was educated in Havre and graduated in 1970 from HHS. In January of 1971, I enlisted in the USMC; was honorably discharged in January 1973. In August 1973, I was hired by the BNRR as a switchmen brakeman. Worked there until 1993.
In October 1973, I met my wife, Sharon A. Smith; we were married February 16, 1974. We have three children Morris and (Dawn) Gummer, (Robert) and Rebecca Gummer Petersen, and Brad and (Danielle) Gummer; they are our pride and joy. We have eight grandchildren, Wyatt, Jonah, Amelia, Bennett, Brianna, Allison, Samantha, and Evan, whom we love very much.
I am Past Master, LTM, in Havre Lodge #55, LTM Great Falls Scottish Rite, and LTM Helena Algeria Shrine.
In 2008, we packed up and left the community we loved and moved to Billings, MT, to be around our kids and grandkids.
I was a very avid outdoorsmen, love the good old days of camping in the Bear Paws, all the fishing trips up on the Blackfoot Reservation, the ice fishing at Fresno and Beaver Creek Lake, most of all, the waterfowl hunts out north of Havre and especially the hunts on the Yellowstone and The Big Horn Rivers.
I am preceded in death by Morris (Father), Lois (Mother) and Marsha (Sister).
I am survived by my wife of 47 years, Sharon; our children, Morris, Rebecca and Brad; and Maureen Weatherly (sister), who resides in Great Falls, MT.
Memorial services to be held at a later date.
