Hill County will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at the 4-H Chuckwagon at the Great Northern Fairgrounds in Havre to inform the public of the current status of the Milk River Levee System and to discuss the proposed Levee Special Improvement District.
Hill County is starting the process of making improvements to the levee such that it will be in compliance with the United States Army Corps of Engineers standards and represented accurately on upcoming FEMA floodplain maps.
Hill County and the city of Havre are coordinating revision of the current levee district boundaries. The proposed district boundary maps will be discussed and the process to create the new Levee Special Improvement District. All interested persons will be allowed to ask questions and to express their opinions regarding the project.
