Festival Days is back and looking for more participants

This version corrects misreporting that Custom Collision Repair is holding an event. It is not.

After a highly abbreviated event last year due to the pandemic, Festival Days is back in force this year and is looking for more participants to sign up for multiple events.

Festival Days is set for Sept. 17-19 with the theme "Havre has Grit."

Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julea Robbins said the Festival Days vendor shows downtown and at the Holiday Village Mall are both looking for more participants, as well as the parade.

Robbins said she's thrilled to have the parade back after last year, but space is still available for anyone who wants to sign up.

Robbins said anyone looking to participate in the parade or vendor shows can grab a sign-up form from the Chamber, message them on Facebook, or go to their website at https://havrechamber.com .

After last year's Festival Days, which lacked most of its regular events including many live shows she said, it's awesome to get back to a bigger event.

"It's great just to be able to get out and see everybody again," she said. "... I'm excited to just get back out there and do it again."

While the Chamber only runs the parade and vendor shows, Robbins said, they will be implementing safety measures for the ongoing pandemic.

She said they are asking attendees to socially distance and wear masks if they are comfortable with it.

They are also insisting that people stay home if they're sick, and if they do come to the parade to stick with their group and try not to intermingle too much, to help slow the spread.

She said the Chamber doesn't run all of the events but hopefully all will be be conducted safely.

Festival Days this year will also play host to the first annual Hi-Line Games, an event aiming to bring students at Montana State University Northern and community members together by having them team up in a competitive event that will feature feats of strength, trivia, karaoke and more.

Robbins said anyone looking to participate in the event can contact the Chamber or Northern.

"We can all get to know each other and have a good time," Robbins said. "It should be fun."

A full schedule of events at Festival Days is available online at the Chamber website at https://havrechamber.com/events/festival-days .
