After a two-year absence, MMA fighting finally returned to Havre this past Saturday. At the Havre Ice Dome, Lights Out at the Dome returned after missing out in 2020 to put on a show for local fighting fans in the packed dome.
The main event of the night was Doug Collins and Louie Lopez who fought in the 145-pound weight class. However, Collins won the fight in the first round with a rear-naked choke. With the win, Collins improved to 3-1 as a fighter while Lopez fell to 0-2.
In the co-main event, Erik Mendez defeated Chris Wagner as they fought at 135 pounds. Mendez defeated Wagner with a submission in the first round to improve to 7-2 as a fighter. Wagner fell to 5-3 with the loss.
There were many amateur fights throughout the night to satisfy attendees. In the opening fight of the night, Austen Conner won by TKO against Kaleb Shafer fighting at 130. The fight was the MMA debut for both fighters as Conner improved to 1-0 and Schafer fell to 0-1.
Fighting at 125, Brian Benevidez defeated Joseph Pascale with a TKO in the first round. With the win, Benevidez improved to 1-1 as a fighter while Pascale fell to 0-2. In a fight at 265 pounds, Jordan Howland and Joey Wilkins went the distance. Howland won by unanimous decision to start his MMA career 1-0.
Josiah Simpson defeated Paul Bryant with a submission in the first round to improve to 6-2 as a fighter. It took Dallas Davison two rounds to defeat Alex Fenner with a rear-naked choke. James Dennis defeated Braeden Tovey with a first round knockout to improve to 5-6 as a fighter. In a fight that lasted three rounds, Daeri Alderman defeated Alan Rea in a unanimous decision. Noah Connors defeated Dustin Odegard in the second round with a tap out due to a choke.
After two years of no fighting in Havre, fighting fans were more than happy to see some punches thrown Saturday night.
