Tilleman Motor Co. donates to Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center

Brock Doty, human resources assistant at Tilleman Motor Company recently paid a visit to the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center. He presented a check for $615 to the Northern Montana Health Care Foundation for the Sletten from their recent "Drive for a Cause" campaign.

"Drive for a Cause" is a fundraising campaign that Tilleman Motor Company ran this July at their dealership. A local, family-owned business, Tilleman Motor Co. has served the community of Havre and the Hi-Line for the last 37 years. They announced July 6 that a donation was made for every test drive that happened at their dealership during the month of July. The Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center was chosen as the benefactor for these funds.

Built originally in 2008, the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center was made possible by the generosity of the Sletten Construction Company, and in large part due to the generous support offered by the community. Many fundraisers and events were held to help raise the $1.5 million needed to construct the center.

"Offering chemotherapy and radiation treatments to cancer patients locally has been of immense benefit to the folks of the Hi-Line" said Christen Obresley, vice president of patient and regulatory services for Northern Montana Health Care and executive director of the Northern Montana Health Care Foundation. "Now that the Cancer Center is part of our community, we are always working toward bettering the care we can offer through it. These funds will go towards that goal."

"We're so pleased to accept this donation for our facility "said Dr. Rajeev Rajendra, the hematology/oncology provider based at the Sletten. "Being new to the community myself, I am amazed at the support and generosity of Montana people. I also give credit to the amazing staff here at the Sletten. They truly care for their patients and work tirelessly on their behalf."
