State and local COVID-19 update, Aug. 17, 2021

The total number of cases of COVID-19 in Montana on the state map after today’s update was 120,946 with 632 new cases, 3,014 active. The number of active hospitalizations was 206. The number of deaths was 1,743.

Blaine County, reported on the state tracking map update this morning, 1 new case, 6 active, 856 total cases, 24 deaths.

Hill County Health Department reported Monday evening that 14 new cases were reported from Saturday through Monday, with 38 active, 2 active hospitalizations, 2,135 total cases, 46 deaths.

Rocky Boy — reported Monday evening, also reported on either Chouteau or Hill County numbers, 7 new cases, 16 active, 16 active on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, 1 active hospitalization, 816 total cases. It has had 7 deaths.

Fort Belknap, reported this morning, also reported on either Blaine or Phillips County numbers, 7 new cases reported Monday, 9 active, no active hospitalizations, 520 total cases, 12 deaths.

Liberty County, reported on the state update this morning, had 5 new cases, 13 active, 139 total cases, 1 death.

Chouteau County, reported on the state update this morning, had 1 new case, 2 active, 522 total cases, 7 deaths.

People can visit the state tracking map, normally updated between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. each day, online through links at https://montana.maps.arcgis.com and at https://covid19.mt.gov .

People can find online where vaccines are available in their area through https://vaccinefinder.org, operated by Boston’s Children’s Hospital and supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Digital Service.
