Firefighters responded a report of a fire at 3:05 a.m. today on the 600 Block of 14th Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage reported that it was a legal burn in a fire pit, but starting at 12:01 Friday morning no outdoor burning will be legal within the city limits.
This will also be the case in the county, Courtnage added, and the city just wanted to piggyback onto the county's change to Stage 1 fire restrictions because of the conditions, and so there wouldn't be any confusion for people.
