June 20, St. Mary Catholic Church in Rocky Boy celebrated its groundbreaking on the rebuilding of its new church.
The old church burned down in a fire in December 2019, and the groundbreaking was a great milestone in moving forward for the parish.
At the event, the parish held the drawing for its raffle. RJS and Associates was the winner of the 2021 Can Am Defender.
"Thank you to all who supported St. Mary Catholic Church through the raffle fundraiser," Father Joseph Tran said. "Your generosity is a blessing to the church and has made a significant impact on the church's ability to rebuild."
St. Mary's is continuing to fundraise in various ways as it is still short about $350,000. People can follow the fundraising efforts via its Facebook page - @stmaryrockyboy - for ongoing posts and videos to see the rebuilding process and other fundraising efforts.
