Obituary - Thomas Gerald Evans

Thomas Gerald Evans, 54, ended his battle against cancer on June 1, 2021.

Cremation has taken place, and a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021. His funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, and all services will be at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Tom's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to Havre Legion Baseball, or the HPS Educational Foundation.

Tom was born September 13, 1966, to Mathias "Tiger" and Doris "Lolly" (Thompson) Evans, the youngest of their six children born and raised in Havre, Montana. He graduated from Havre High School in 1985 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for eight years including a deployment overseas in Desert Storm. After returning home from his military service, he worked for Pennington, Pepsi, and Frito-Lay.

The only thing greater than Tom's love for Notre Dame was his love for his family. "Uncle Mot" loved his nieces and nephews like they were his own, never missing one of their sporting events. If he wasn't at home, he was at a Blue Pony, MSU-Northern, or Legion game.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tiger, and niece, Paige Evans.

Tom is survived by his mother, Lolly Evans of Havre; brothers, Bob (Jamie) Evans of Las Vegas, and Jim (Brenda), Steve, and Don "Lunar" (Sabra) Evans, all of Havre; sister, Patti (Brett) Hickman of Havre; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Trevor), Chase (Shaena), Michael (Mary), CJ, Laura (Andy), Kristi, Sammy, Jaclyn, Kody, and Shelby; and close friends Joe Fournier and Joe Keller.
