At a special meeting of the Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees Thursday, a person with some experience teaching and being an administrator in the area was hired as Havre’s new assistant superintendent.

In a Zoom meeting, the board hired Brad Moore for the position.

Moore has been in public education for 26 years.

His biography page says he spent his first 12 years teaching agriculture eduction and being an FFA advisor in Ekalaka, Big Sandy and Big Timber.

He earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from Montana State University in 2005 and spent the next eight years as superintendent in Richey.

He then took the position as superintendent at Big Sandy, spending five years in that position.

He split his superintendent duties in the 2019-2020 school year between Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber and in Stanford, and worked his second year as superintendent of Stanford this year.

Havre’s position was previously filled by current Havre Superintendent Craig Mueller, who became interim superintendent in July of last year with the departure of previous superintendent Andy Carlson.

Mueller became Havre superintendent in April of this year after initially declining the position months earlier. He said when he applied for the position people persuaded him to continue as superintendent.
