Sticker Shock campaign urges people to be responsible with alcohol

Press release

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, the HELP Committee and Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line, the Substance Abuse and Misuse Coalition of Hill County, and Torch Club — the Boys & Girls Club’s middle school leadership group — want to remind those purchasing alcohol to not supply alcoholic beverages to anyone younger than the age of 21.

A Sticker Shock Campaign will be implemented Thursday in local communities. Stickers with a reminder to be responsible this holiday weekend will be placed on packs and cases of beer, seltzers, and wine coolers at various businesses around Hill and Blaine Counties.

Participating retailers include Walmart, Gary and Leo’s Fresh Foods, both Zip Trip locations, Sinclair, Town Pump, Holiday, Havre Emporium, McLean’s Grocery and Red’s Auto Parts in Havre; Jitter Bugs in Box Elder; Town Pump and Finley’s Food Farm in Chinook; EZ Mart in Harlem, and Big Flat Grocery in Turner.

Stay safe, be responsible, and have a great Fourth of July.
