Roadwork progressing on streets, highways in the area

Work is still progressing on multiple road and highway projects in the area, causing some delays in traffic

Mike Moore of the Montana Department of Transpiration recently provided the Havre Daily News an update on road work being done in Havre and the Hill County area.

Excavation is still proceeding on Boulevard Avenue from 11th Street to Second Street West, with concrete sidewalk and curb work south of Ninth Street having been completed.

The avenue will still be closed to through traffic from Ninth Street to Second Street West until construction is complete, likely early next month.

The upper parking lot for Optimist Park will allow for two-way traffic to ensure access to Kober Drive for residents and emergency services.

Four miles south of Havre on Beaver Creek Road work is substantially complete with final striping planned for late July.

Nine miles east of Havre on the way to Chinook paving work is complete and crews are working on installing drain curbs at three Redrock bridges and Clear Creek bridge.

Work zones will be short and have pilot cars. Speed limits in these zones will be 35 mph.

Further work on the area is scheduled for mid-July.

Work is also being done on U.S. Highway 2 between mile markers 404.1 and 427.0 in an area between Chinook and the Milk River Bridge at Fort Belknap.
