Area gridders to play in Class C All-Star games this weekend

The summer All-Star football circuit is finally here, and this weekend, two big games will be held. And both of those games contain local talent.

Tonight in Highwood, the 25th annual 6-Man All-Star game will be held with a host of area players in action.

On the Blue Team, Big Sandy’s Kade Strutz will compete and Pioneer head coach Larry Jappe will assist the team. The Blue Team will have North Star’s Payne Ditmar on the squad. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. in Highwood.

The action will then shift to Butte Saturday night where the Bob Cleverly 8-Man All-Star Game will be played at Montana Tech.

That game will feature several Fort Benton Longhorns in Billy Ullery, Hayden Axtmen, Jace Thompson and Hayden Diekhans. Fort Benton head coach Jory Thompson will assist the Blue Team, as well.

The 8-Man All-State game kicks off Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Butte.
