Independence Bank has announced the promotion of Elizabeth Chellis to assistant operations and Bank Security Act - BSA - officer.
Chellis joined the Independence Bank team in 2019 as a new accounts representative.
In this position, she will assist management in all operational functions at Independence Bank. As part of her new role, she has completed the requirements to become a certified BSA/AML professional. This certification verifies her understanding of the requirements of each segment in the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money-laundering laws and also ensures that she possess the knowledge required to manage the BSA/AML function of the bank.
In addition, Chellis recently received her certification as a national check professional. This designation ensures an expert level of understanding in the current check payments landscape which will continue to provide lasting value for our customers and for our employees.
Both certifications recognize her commitment to the areas of payment operations and risk exposure for the bank.

Chellis hails from the Pacific Northwest and has worked in the financial industry since 2002, with experience in retail banking, operations and risk management as well as others.
Chellis said she relocated to Havre five years ago and enjoys filling her free time with books, family and exploring all that her new home has to offer.
