Carlee Kato has been named one of Havre High School's April students of the month.
The daughter of Jim and Carrie, Carlee, a senior, has two siblings, Lauren, 20, and Reid, 15.
Carlee's school activities include golf, softball manager, Spanish Club, and Student Council. Outside of school, she works as a child care provider and a receptionist at Northern Montana Hospital. Her hobbies and interests include TikTok.
Carlee was nominated by Jill Cammon because "she contributes positively in class, supports her classmates, and really strives to learn." Cammon added that Carlee's "contribution as a volunteer, leader, and as a Blue Pony has greatly benefited the student body."
Her future plans include attending the University of Montana to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Senior Simon Hart was named Havre High's other student of the month for April.
The son of Shannon and Peter, Simon has two siblings, Nina, 13, and Liza, 10.
Simon's school activities include participating in Key Club, managing the swim team, and being the president of the Spanish Club. When away from school he has a job mowing lawns, while his hobbies and interests consist of sleep, procrastination, homework, candle making and chewing cinnamon gum.
He was nominated by Colleen Patera because he "is a very courteous and friendly student." Not only does Simon have high grades in all his classes, he is also a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.
"Working with Simon this year has been a pleasure," Patera said.
After graduating, Simon plans on going to college, possibly improving his handwriting.
