Grief Poem - Thinking of You

Inside my heart, it still does ache, it never seems to end.

Your leaving has left a sadness, a wound that will not mend.

Many our tears been shed dear one, and more will surely fall.

You took my happiness with you, the happiest hours of all.

You were one in a million, dear, why did you have to go?

You meant the world to me dear one, I really loved you so.

One day will come - we'll meet again on Heaven's distant shore.

We two will walk, holding our hands, together forever more.

In the stillness of every night when grief pain really starts.

We stretch a bit with you in mind, and draw you in our heart.

We share a secret, you and I, that no one else shall know,

At night it seems you're near to me, in evening lights' soft glow.

At home, at work, or where work calls, we're alone this Spring time.

Don't tell, dear one, but now and then, your hand slips into mine.

But you're not here - you've gone ahead, 'taint like it used to be.

The "thread" of love connects us still, a thread no one can see.

Because you were my very life, in dreams I feel your touch.

We know, dear one, that love's not lost, and you were loved so much.

We're born to die, the Good Book says, right now we're in the "dark,"

But someday soon, we'll fly away and SING like Heavenly Lark.

And then we'll know love(1) at its best, for God awaits above.

He sees us here and cares for us, enfolds us in His Love.
