Quick pics: Bowmen practice in the rain

A group of archers at the Spring 3D Archery Shoot gather in a light rain April 25 at the shooting area for the last of 25 targets, a life-sized moose. Bearpaw Bowmen Archery Club members organize this annual event at the Eagles Campground in Beaver Creek Park. Organizers said that it's an informal competition to start off the year and acts as a prelude to their larger Barber Ranch 2-Day Archery Shoot at the Barber Ranch on Clear Creek Road - June 19-20 this year. The April shoot, which is held no matter the weather, had about 70 shooters, organizers said, but the June event generally gets around 500 archers from Montana, surrounding states and Canada.
