Havre Police Department

A summons was issued after a caller at Havre High School reported a tobacco violation at 2 p.m. Wednesday. No details on the charges were provided.

Officers were asked Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. to make a well-being check on someone on Fifth Street.

Wednesday at 4:12 p.m., a caller at a First Street West business reported a weed eater and a rototiller were stolen.

Mara Jayne Corcoran of Havre, 30, was arrested on charges of assault with a weapon, partner or family member assault causing injury and disorderly conduct after a caller at a First Street Northeast residence reported Wednesday at 6:51 p.m. that a woman had attacked someone with a knife. Police Capt. Aaron Wittmer said the victim, a family member to Corcoran, stopped to deliver groceries but Corcoran, who has had prior convictions, tried to stab the victim. In the ensuing struggle, the incident report says, the victim was pushed down some stairs and broke her wrist. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

The sheriff's office dispatch log reported no arrests, summonses or investigations in the the 24-hour reporting period.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to four calls Wednesday.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two 4-week-old kittens of unknown gender, four male cats and four female cats.

The shelter also held a male Dachshund dog, two female and one male mixed-breed dogs, a male St. Bernard-mix dog, a female collie dog, a female 8-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a male 17-week-old mixed-breed puppy and a female Staffordshire bull terrier dog.

A girl was born Monday, May 3, 2021, to Claudia Cox and Eric Essing of Havre.

A boy was born Monday, May 3, 2021, to Julie Werk and Nacona Stump of Box Elder.
