Have a good night
You know, Lord, a couple of us gals were comparing our weeks, days; then the question of how we slept popped up. That's an interesting subject; believe it or not, a few of us could relate to lack of sleep. Jill mentioned her past lack of sleep: "Is it really considered 'misplacing' if the misplaced object is yourself? Yup - that was me. The rest of my story: I went to use the bathroom, came out later ... my husband asked me what I had been doing in there for almost four hours. Oops - I must have dozed off. Well, when you haven't slept well in a billion years, a nap on the bathroom floor (or possibly on the toilet ... I'm not telling). It was amazing - but I did it!" We all giggled.
"Well, I can't beat that one," Heather said, "but I'll tell you one about my mom. She changed my little brother in the middle of the night. Zipped up his PJs, rolled up the whole thing, next time he got up, she noticed she'd left the original dirty diaper rolled up in his wet PJs, behind him. Yes, Mom was running on lack of sleep." We all chuckled.
"Time for one more?" Rebecca asked. "Any of you remember that summer family outing when Aunt Dotty looked like she was about to cave in; she was so tired from lack of sleep. We were all having fun, Auntie was pushing two-year-old Zoe on the swings when it looked like she'd zoned out and then started looking around for Zoe but couldn't find her. Everyone just about died laughing, pointing to Zoe, still in the swing."
Remembered Grandma told us to memorize Psalms 4:8: "I will lie down in peace and sleep, for though I am alone, O Lord, You will keep me safe." Thank You, Lord, for sweet dreams tonight!
Love, Mara
