Maja L. Alvarez (White Eagle Child – Wah-pi-w Ki-hi-w Ah-wah-si-s), 20, passed away at her Coolidge, AZ, residence Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
Wake services will begin at 1:00 p.m. today, April 29, 2021, and will continue until her funeral service, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Father Joseph Tran officiating. Burial will follow in the Monteau Family Cemetery.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Maja was born September 6, 2000, in Tucson, AZ, to Armando Alvarez and Shannon Monteau. She was raised by her mother and loving stepfather, Bryan, in Arizona, Montana, and California. Maja graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 2018. During her time at Union, Maja was a basketball manager, volunteered at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center, and was Miss AmerInd First Attendant in 2017. Maja began attending Central Arizona College on a full scholarship, majoring in digital multimedia and worked at the City of Casa Grande Parks and Recreation, Lowes, Circle K and later for FedEx.
Maja was a very artistic young woman who enjoyed drawing, painting, working with multimedia and beading. She loved spending time with her best friends Destiny, Daniel, and Justina where they would often cook/bake & play games. Maja liked alternative, rock, hip-hop music, anime, and memes. Her siblings and sister Anisa's dog, Gus, were her world. Maja always had a strong will, even as a toddler and never did anything conventionally. She was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her boyfriend, Noah, and his mother, Victoria.
Maja is survived by her mother, Shannon (Bryan Harvey) Monteau of Rocky Boy; father, Armando (Rebecca) Alvarez of Tucson, AZ; siblings, Anisa (Jacob Johnson) Monteau of Rocky Boy, Armando Alvarez Jr., of Tucson, AZ, and Giovanni Alvarez and Bryan Harvey, Jr., both of Rocky Boy; grandparents, Clarice Morsette and Curtis (Terry Flores) Monteau, all of Rocky Boy, and Francisco and Guadalupe Mada of Tucson, AZ; aunts, Linda (Emilio) Alvarez, Susanna Alvarez, and Maria (José) Urbalejo, all of Tucson, AZ; uncles, Curtis (Erika) Monteau Jr. of Rocky Boy, Francisco Mada, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, and Tomas (Nancy) Sagasta of Mesa, AZ; boyfriend, Noah Perea; niece, Samiya Johnson; and numerous cousins and other extended family and friends.
