Havre Police Department

Wednesday at 11:48 a.m., someone at the police department reported a sexual or violent offender registry violation.

A two-vehicle crash between a Subaru and a van was reported on First Street Wednesday at 1:06 p.m.

A caller at a Third Street business reported Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. that a man had repeatedly tried to leave without paying for items.

Someone at a Montana Avenue business reported finding stolen property Wednesday at 1:35 p.m.

An arrest was made after someone reported a man in the bushes in the alley south of First Street at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday. Moses Eugene Lawrence, who was named in the dispatch log as an involved party, was listed on this morning's jail roster as being held on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Deputies assisted another agency on 10th Avenue North Wednesday at 4:49 p.m.

Havre Fire Department

Firefighters responded to a 4:40 p.m. Wednesday report of a grassfire on the 1100 Block of 10th Avenue North. Fire Chief Mel Paulson said two engines and four personnel were sent and they contained the fire to eight to 10 acres. No structures were involved and no cause was determined.

Firefighters also responded to a report of a garbage bin fire on the 200 Block of Second Street at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Smoke was emanating from the bin due to items in a garbage bag starting to burn. The fire was put out.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two 3-week-old kittens of unknown gender, four male cats, two female 12-week-old kittens and four female cats.

The shelter also held two female and one male 10-week-old mixed-breed puppies, two female and one male mixed-breed dogs, a male St. Bernard-mix dog, a female 8-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a male 16-week-old mixed-breed puppy and a female Staffordshire bull terrier dog.
