The Havre Education Association is hosting a Havre Public School Board candidate forum Thursday in Hensler Auditorium at 7 p.m.
The forum is limited to 25 family members and members of the press. The public is invited to watch via Zoom at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88060431149 .
The forum questions will help the public and local teachers learn who the candidates are. The questions will be general questions that allow the candidates to voice their vision for the district and will not be specific to the district.
The questions will be given to the candidates upon arrival to the event for review before answering.
The questions were chosen by HEA members.
The candidates are running for two three-year seats and one one-year seat.
Lorraine Larson, who was appointed this year, is an incumbent and candidate for one of the three-year positions. The other candidates for those seats are Jessica Kennedy-Stiffarm, Jacob R. Ingram, Erin Pulse and Michele Holden.
Garrit Ophus, who was appointed to the board this year, and Brandon Berreth are running for the one-year term.
Britnee’ Loch was the only confirmed candidate for a high school seat and was elected by acclamation.
Larson, Kennedy-Stiffarm, Ingram, Pulse, Ophus, Berreth and Loch have confirmed they will attend the forum.
Holden has been invited but has not confirm her attendance.
The event will be covered in Friday’s edition of Havre Daily News.
