Dear, you are missed, you've gone ahead, you're with Jesus above.
Parents, siblings, a child, or spouse; you're clothed now in/with God's love.
We're born to die, to go back home, twill mend our breaking heart.
Could be real soon, we don't know when our leavings on God's Chart.
Meanwhile we wait, a memories flow; those 'memory-gates' don't close.
We're lonely here, we miss them so, more than one really knows.
Our love's not gone, it's safe inside - a bond that we did share.
Oh, Lord, the pain that's in our hearts, it is so hard to bear.
A car door slammed, could that be Dad? Nope! He's been gone for years.
Some cooking smells hint of our Mom, those daydreams bring on tears.
We 'heard' a song! 'Grams, is that you?' Our Gram was talented.
There wasn't much she couldn't do, plus bake some St. John's bread.
The neighbor kids laugh, scream and shout; like kin – they've left, you know.
Like Gram and Gramps, they too, have left; when our times' up – we'll go!
It's 'sounded' like the stairstep squeaked, 'Come down to me, my love.'
But as that thought flies though my head, we KNOW he's gone above.
J's cousin 'left'! She'd visit J.' They'd ride horses for FUN.
God smiled and laughed – then called her 'home; "Your work down there is done!"
Jesus, take care of our dear spouse, and love him/her as we do.
Because he/she was so dear to us, so loving, kind and true.
In this sad time when Sorrow rains, memories help ease heart pain.
No one can take memories away – thankfully, they remain.
Life is a lovely memory; Lord, his/her death is silent grief.
Right now, they sleep in Your garden, in Sun of perfect peace.
