Lois was born October 2, 1937, in Edgerton, Wyoming, to Carl and Theda May (Green) Seabaum. Her dad worked in the oilfields, so Lois was raised in Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, and Montana. She graduated from Chinook High School and married Herb White June 28, 1956. The couple had four children and made their home along the Hi-Line, living in Inverness, Chester, and then moving to Hingham in 1964, where they remained.

Over the years, in addition to helping her husband on the farm, Lois worked for several retailers, along with cooking for harvest crews, and cooking and bartending for the Highway Bar. Her favorite job, though, was caring for her family and her home.

Lois was quite the spunky woman, who loved to socialize and never met a stranger. If there was a gathering of people, large or small, Lois was there, and she was the life of the party. She enjoyed embroidery, and was quite talented at it. She was well-known for her cooking and baking. According to her granddaughter, "Granny was a force. She was a straight-shooter, a keeper of birthdays (from the North Hingham White House) and important events, a lover of people, a proud and active member of her Hi-Lne community, and a fiercely loyal supporter of those whom she loved."  Lois was ultimately a caretaker at heart, and she simply adored her husband, children, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Ruhkamp, and her parents, Carl and Theda May Seabaum.

Lois is survived by Herb, her beloved husband of 65 years; children, Doug (Valerie) White of Chinook, Carla (Ron) Neffendorf of Alaska, Stanley (Theresa) White of Asheboro, NC, and Vicki (Bryan) Ruhkamp of Havre; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn Simmons of Maybelle, CO, and Alma Jean Harris of Craig, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
