Sonny was born April 16, 1933, in Havre to Norman and Ruth (Christiansen) Boucher. He was raised in Havre, attending school there.
In 1953, Sonny entered the US Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1955.
After his discharge, Sonny returned home, and, in January of 1958, he married Rayella Ellis, and the couple had six children. They made their home in Havre, where Sonny worked for Havre Builder's Supply for over 28 years. After they closed, he began working in construction with his brother Ed Boucher, finally retiring in the late 1990s.
Sonny enjoyed almost any outdoor activity such as hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping. He loved to go for drives, and eagerly anticipated attending the Barber Shoot every year to watch the bowmen. His family was everything, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ruth Boucher; siblings Nita (Melvin) Rodgers and Chuck Boucher; parents-in-law, Ray and Boots Ellis; sister-in-law Bev Boucher; and brothers-in-law Dean Howard, Earl Ellis, Ron Becker, and Leon Cochran.
Sonny is survived by Rayella Boucher, his wife of 63 years, of Havre; children, Tammy (Todd) Schweigert of Havre, Teri (Bert) Huntington of Casper, WY, and Norman Boucher, Amy (Mark) Daniel, Rex (Kristy) Boucher, and Jennifer (Joel) Knutsen, all of Havre; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings Ed Boucher of Havre, Doris Howard of Helena and Terry (Patty) Boucher of Havre, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
