From the Courts - Federal District Court: Man sentenced for domestic abuse

GREAT FALLS — A Harlem man who admitted a domestic abuse crime after beating a woman on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation was sentenced today to 30 months in prison and to two years of supervised release, Acting U.S. Attorney Leif Johnson said.

Jeremy Leo Tincher, 39, pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to domestic abuse by habitual offender.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided over the sentencing.

In court documents filed in the case, the government alleged that Tincher attacked and injured the victim, identified as Jane Doe, Aug. 9, 2019, as she was driving on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. The victim drove directly to the police station seeking help and was treated for injuries.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Cobell prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI and Fort Belknap Tribal Police.
