Trent Michael Shettel of Havre, 19, and Megan Mamie Whitford of Havre, 20, were each issued a summons on charges of minor in possession and false identification by a minor to get alcohol after a caller at a First Street establishment reported two fake IDs Saturday at 1:07 p.m.

Officers were called to Rotary Park on Beaver Creek Boulevard Saturday at 11:20 p.m. by Havre Fire Department firefighters who extinguished a flaming rag that was hanging from a plastic bottle filled with a flaming liquid, somewhat like a molotov cocktail. The incident is under investigation. See the fire department section below for further details on the incident.

Three arrests were made after a caller on Fourth Street reported an assault at 1:23 a.m. Sunday. No details on the charges were provided.

Russell James Houle of Box Elder, 41, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant and on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs after a caller County Road 405 South reported suspicious activity at 9:36 a.m. Friday and a second caller on U.S. Highway 87 reported a burglary in progress at 9:44 a.m.

Havre Fire Department
Emergency medical personnel responded to two calls Friday, four Saturday, five Sunday and one early this morning.

Firefighters were called Friday at 10:18 a.m. to the 1400 Block of Fifth Avenue where a gas line was hit while digging in a lot. NorthWestern Energy also responded to stop the leak and HFD stayed on scene with a truck and ambulance until the work was complete. Firefighters and NWE responded to the same address Saturday at 10:16 a.m. to reset the temporary cap on the line because a small amount of gas was still leaking. The line was scheduled for complete repair sometime today.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at Rotary Park on 1900 Block of Beaver Creek Boulevard. Callers had removed what looked like a lit molotov cocktail made with a rag, flammable liquid and a plastic bottle from under the playground equipment, and firefighters put out the flames. No property appeared to be damaged and no one was hurt. Havre Police officers were called and they are investigating the incident with assistance from the fire department
Havre Animal Shelter
The shelter this morning held two 6-week-old kittens of unknown gender, five male cats and five female cats.

The shelter also held a female 6-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a male 11-week-old mixed breed puppy, a female and two male 9-week-old mixed breed puppies, a male 9-month-old mixed-breed puppy, one male mixed-breed dog, a male 14-week-old mixed-breed puppy, a female 13-week-old mixed-breed puppy, a female 6-month-old German shepherd puppy and a male 8-month-old shepherd puppy. Another three puppies, all mixed-breed 9-week-old males, were being housed separately.

A girl was born Thursday, March 4, 2021, to Emma Lamebull and Jordan Jefferson of Dodson.
