Area teams grapple at Eastern B-C Divisional

So many things have been different about this high school wrestling season. Many of those things are because of COVID-19. But, an unrelated difference will be seen this weekend as Class B-C has changed its divisional format.

Prior to this winter, there were four B-C divisions for wrestling but, Class B-C is now just split into two with an East and a West. And the Eastern B-C Divisional will be where the area wrestling teams will be this weekend, as the divisional tournament takes place in Glasgow today and Saturday.

Chinook, Harlem, Fort Benton/Big Sandy and CJI, as well as Hays-Lodge Pole all compete in wrestling on the Hi-Line, and were once part of the Northern B-C. Now however, the Eastern B-C includes traditional powerhouses like Glasgow and Colstrip, so for area teams, the divisional tournament just got a lot more difficult.

Still, wrestling is always strong on the Hi-Line, and this weekend will be no exception. While Glasgow is the top-ranked team in B-C, both Chinook and Fort Benton/Big Sandy are strong Class C teams that will compete well at the divisional tournament and beyond.

The top eight wrestlers from each weight class this weekend in Glasgow will advance to next weekend's Class B-C state tournament, which will be held this year in Shelby since there is no All-Class State Tournament this year.
