Montana Actors Theatre's Youth Program will be holding auditions Monday March 1 at 4 p.m. for a pair of one-act plays; "Submerged: A Tragedy in One Act" by H. Stuart Cottman and Le Vergne Shaw, and "The Girl Who Was Asked to Turn Blue" by Ev Miller.
A press release from MAT says they are looking for young people grade 6 to 12 and no experience is necessary.
It says participation in these plays is a unique opportunity for youth to explore character development and there will be all female and all male casts.
It says each cast will learn both shows and present them at the end of March.
Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays 4 to 6 p.m. through the month of March.
MAT is also looking for participants for their Youth Monthly Workshops for April and May.
The workshops cost $50 per month and include all 8 sessions in the month with additional children in the family costing $35 per month.
The press release says scholarships are available but space is limited.
Costume Design and Construction will be held in April and Intro to Classic Theatre, Shakespeare, Stage Fighting will be held in May.
The release says MAT will be following Hill County and Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for COVID-19 including masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizing.
