Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

You know, Lord, a couple weeks ago we heard about two acquaintances who had earlier this year, slipped and fallen, injuring shoulder and back. Thankfully, their church families frequently contacted those two gals, asking for updates, extending offers to help them out and always lifted them up in prayer. Also, thankfully, both gals had near by family to help out with trips to the doctor; they or their friends could buzz up town to pick up medicines for them or groceries. Neighbors and friends also cooked up meals or special treats and delivered to these gals and their hubbies and families, if there are still some younger ones at home.

We are also thankful that aches and pains for them are healing and that they also believe in the power of prayer. We continue to lift up one another in prayers, but we also pray for others outside our church group and our community. Who among us doesn't know someone in need of prayers? After all, it is winter; ice, wind and any kind of wintery weather does not always cooperate with what each person has been scheduled to do.

Praying together for each other's needs is encouraged in Your Word, Lord. We are blessed that a prayer list is shared by handout or on the computer which enables and encourages us to mention their names to You, Lord, making their petitions known. Praying also brings us closer to You, as praying for others is good. As we join together, or even separately, lifting up those in need, we thank You for Your unleashed hope and healing for our dear ones. We like Colossians 1:9, "And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understand."
