Editor,
Once again, thank you.
The beginning of December people were asking me if the community was going to have a dinner this Christmas with the spike in COVID cases. After visiting with a secret Santa and some local associations, it was felt that this is the year that it was needed since people were down on their luck and losing loved ones.
Then, I fell victim to COVID and was quarantined, so all I was able to do was be an armchair quarterback. Then our reservations crew for meals went down and the commissioners’ office picked it up. So, from that point, great volunteers like you took over and made sure the food was prepared, and delivered and that everyone who needed a meal received one.
Everything went well and 602 meals were served, down from the average of about 780 the past couple of years. We didn’t have the great desserts and beverages we’ve had in the past, but everyone was happy. All the leftover food went to Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen and the gift kept giving. We have a wonderful community. I wish you all a joyous, heathy and much-better new year.
