With a dual already under their belt, the Havre High wrestling team will get right back on the mat Friday night. And awaiting the Blue Ponies will be Class B powerhouse Glasgow.
Havre is traveling to Glasgow Friday to battle the top-ranked Scotties. The action starts at 4 in Glasgow.
Havre, under head coach Beau LaSalle, has also updated its schedule recently. The Blue Ponies were set to travel to Livingston this weekend, but those duals have been canceled. The Ponies will then make their home debut next Saturday when they wrestle Eastern A rivals Lewistown and Hardin. Havre is also home Jan. 22-23 with duals against Ronan and Corvallis, as well as Columbia Falls and Frenchtown. Havre will close out January with a trip to East Helena to face new Class A programs Lockwood and East Helena.
As for Friday's dual in Glasgow, the Ponies will be taking on one of the best in Class B, just as they do every year. Havre's lineup will likely include senior standout Mick Chagnon at 120, Dominic Perkins at 126, Hunter Velk at 132 pounds, Riley and Kendall Pleninger at 138 and 145 pounds, Wyatt Hanson at 152, Kale VanCampen at 160, defending state champ Orion Thivierge at 170 and Randy Tommerup at 182. Havre will also look to young wrestlers in the lower weights and will likely be open at the upper weights.
The Ponies and Scotties will wrestle at 4 p.m. Friday, with an official dual and likely exhibition matches. Havre will take on Hardin and Lewistown next Saturday in the HHS gymnasium.
