Lifelong Havre, MT, resident Robert "Bob" L. Laursen passed away December 21, 2020, while staying at Northern Montana Care Center.
A graveside service will be held at a later announced date, due to COVID concerns, at the Highland Cemetery in Havre, MT.
Bob was born January 18, 1937, to Alfred and Burneice Laursen. He was a high school graduate from Big Sandy High School. He enlisted into the Montana National Guard and proudly served.
Bob had many jobs including Rocky Boy Coal Mine, VitaRich Dairy, Hill County Road Department, City of Havre, Buttreys Coffee Shop, Shanty Cafe, and he built, owned and was the operating manager of the Tip It Bar, and retired after working as a detention officer for the Hill County Sherrif's Department.
He was married to Lorraine Haymaker, Doris Yuso, and, at the time of his death, Sandra Wilke Williams Laursen. Sandra and Bob celebrated just under 20 years of marriage.
Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. Bob loved antique cars, old country music, going to auctions, and would never pass up an opportunity to go dancing. Bob was a hard-working man who loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
Bob is survived by his wife Sandy Laursen; sister Loretta Porter; sons Andy (Kathy) Laursen and Randy (Nancy) Laursen; step-children, Brad (Darla) Williams and Jeanette (Jeff) Reihl, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Doris Yuso and Lorraine Haymaker; sons Russell, Rodney, and Tracy Laursen; daughter, Cindy Cross; sisters Charlotte Jirsa, Virginia Olson, and Arleen Laursen, and brothers, William and Leroy Laursen.
The family has asked to make donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
