Letter to the Editor - Leave it to the cowboys to show how the country can be

In a time when our country is more divided than ever, leave it up to the NFR to get it right. For the last 10 days on the Cowboy Channel and the RFD Channel, this country witnessed the most patriotic, God-loving, family-oriented amazing professionals on earth.

If the opening ceremonies each night didn't send shivers up your spine and bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what could. When our American flag was raised each night, every single person in that arena, of every walk of life, removed their hat and put their hand over their heart. The only time a knee was taken was when a bull rider was seriously injured and the cowboys took a knee to say a prayer.

These young men and women don't make millions of dollars every year, but what they do is nothing short of spectacular. When they are interviewed after winning rounds, they thanked their family, sponsors and, most importantly, Jesus Christ.

When the future of our country is uncertain, leave it up to the cowboys to remind us how great this country used to be and the promise of how great this county can be when we put everything into the hands of our heavenly Father.  Thank you NFR for doing it right year after year and reminding all of us how lucky we are to live in the greatest country in the world, the United States of America!
