College wrestling was finally back in the Armory Gymnasium, as the Montana State University-Northern wrestling team held a Maroon/Gold-type dual Wednesday night.
Of course, no fans were allowed inside the Armory due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the dual was broadcast live on Northern's Youtube Channel. Head coach Tyson Thivierge's team was able to get in plenty of matches, and the dual went down to the wire, where the Maroon squad won 18-15, with a victory in the final match of the night, which was a heavyweight bout.
Northern is prepping to begin its season soon, as the Lights start the year ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Coaches Poll. MSU-N has five grapplers holding individual rankings as well, including defending NAIA national champion Nick Kunz, ranked No. 1 at 125 pounds, and senior Isaac Bartel, who is ranked first at 187.
