A two-vehicle crash outside of Kremlin Saturday evening involving a pair of pick-up trucks resulted in the death of one driver and the other going to the hospital.
The name of the deceased has yet to be released pending notification of relatives.
Highway Patrol’s incident report says the collision took place near mile marker 368 on Highway 2 and the two drivers were the only people involved.
A 2009 GMC Sierra driven by the deceased, a 20-year-old man from Kremlin, was traveling westbound on Highway 2 when they crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, the report says, on which the second vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling.
The Silverado, driven by a 33-year-old man from Havre, attempted to avoid collision by pulling to the right, but was unable to do so.
The report says, the vehicles entered a head-on collision and the driver of the first vehicle, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was sent to Northern Montana Hospital.
Speed and alcohol are suspected as factors in the crash but drugs are not.
The report says the roads were bare and dry.
