Veterans in the honor guard stand at ease Wednesday during the Veterans Day ceremony at the VFW Post 497 Veterans Memorials by Havre Town Square. The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes and included an opening and closing prayer, the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, a three-volley salute and the playing of taps.
Local residents braved the cold to honor those who served the country at a Veterans Day ceremony in Town Square Wednesday.
The ceremony started with an opening prayer from the chaplain followed by the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner. The Veterans Honor Guard provided a three-volley salute and taps was played.
The 15-minute ceremony closed with a prayer and attendees quickly dispersed out of the cold.
An indoor meal and presentations were not held this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
