Two arrested after car chase runs through Havre

Hill County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit after attempting Monday at 10:45 a.m. to stop a Silver Dodge Ram 1500 with North Dakota plates that had been reported stolen.

The driver of the vehicle did not yield to deputies, which led to a pursuit in residential neighborhoods in southeast Havre that also involved Havre Police officers and Montana Highway Patrol troopers, a release from the sheriff’s office says. Deputies arrested two suspects in the case and recovered the stolen vehicle.

The sheriff’s dispatch log for Monday reported two arrests made, but details were not available.

A call requesting more information from the sheriff’s office to provide details on the charges had not been returned, but two people, Zack Lee Ambler of Montana and Terrance Kane Daychild of Harlem, were named in the dispatch log as involved parties.

This morning’s jail roster lists Ambler as being held on charges of felony theft, felony accountability and obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, and he is being held on a 72-hour hold for probation and parole.

Daychild is listed in the roster as being held on a felony warrant for aggravated burglary and partner or family member assault and a charge of violation of a suspended sentence, both in Cascade County, and on charges of felony theft, felony criminal endangerment, felony obstructing justice, felony criminal mischief, fleeing, driving with a suspended driver’s license and resisting arrest.

One vehicle crash related to the car chase was reported at 11:08 a.m. on Ninth Avenue.

Hill County Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone who witnessed this pursuit or is a victim in this event contact Deputy Alex Esteves at 265-2512, ext. 2109, or via email at [email protected]. They can also contact Hill County Dispatch Center at 265-2512.
