Gladys Agnes Klundt, "A daughter of the Prairie," went to meet Jesus, her savior, at age 93, October 6, 2020.
Born to Walter and Martha Hinebauch in East End Saskatchewan, Canada, who had seven children, with Linda as lone survivor.
She met Elmer Klundt at a country dance on the highland and they were soon married. They farmed and ranched near Laredo, for 25 years, where they raised four children, Patty Jo, Bonnie, Debbie, and Kenny. She lost Elmer to a farm accident, and was widowed at age 43.
She had nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She kept busy with family, church, and friends; playing cards, always saying "Bridge is not for dummers."
She helped start a school for special needs children. She traveled abroad, lived in Havre and Whitefish, making people chuckle, even on her death bed.
We will remember her with fun stories that make us smile.
As one of her friends put it, "A down-to-earth farm girl with grit and honesty."
A message to Patty Jo, "Jesus will be with you, she loved you very much!"
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will go to a special needs child, a friend to Gladys. 1105 O'Brien Avenue, Whitefish, MT 59937.
Watch her service at Calvary Chapel Whitefish, media, livestream, special services.
